A five-day Flutter and Firebase programme for PCHRD’s IT team, followed by an enterprise-grade Open edX learning management system for stakeholders across the country.
The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development is one of the three sectoral councils of the Department of Science and Technology, coordinating and monitoring health research activities nationwide.
PCHRD’s IT team, experienced in PHP and web development, wanted to build its own Android and iOS apps for health-data collection and tracking. LaQuest Academy customised a five-day Flutter and Firebase programme covering Dart, Firebase services and web-mapping integration. Twelve trainees closed it with a half-day mini-hackathon, building apps such as a map-based malaria case tracker.
PCHRD then engaged LaQuest for a hybrid learning management system. LaQuest implemented Open edX on PCHRD’s on-premise Ubuntu server with an AWS database backup, configured Studio, Insights, certificates and discussion forums, and provides hosting and maintenance. The project was delivered with a signed UAT on 10 February 2022.
